NRTRDE

NRTRDE (Near Real Time Roaming Data Exchange) is the new fraud reporting procedure which supersedes the High Usage Report procedure. With the new NRTRDE procedure, details of a call must be transferred from the VPMN to the HPMN within 4 hours of the call, in the new NR format (TD35) specified by GSMA.

EDCH offers many options to assist operators in becoming NRTRDE compliant in the shortest possible timeframe.

The default NR file exchange option is as follows: a client can send NR files generated by their NRTRDE system to EDCH. EDCH will validate, process and transfer the files to the client’s roaming partners or their clearing houses. EDCH will also receive NR files from roaming partners and validate, process and transfer them to the client.

Additionally, EDCH offers the following customized options:
A client can send to EDCH, CDR (Call Data Record) files generated by their switches.
A client can send to EDCH, any CDF (Common Data Format) files generated by their mediation system.
Or a client can send GSM TAP files on an hourly basis.

If any of the above 3 options is used, EDCH can then generate NR files and transfer them to the client’s roaming partners. Similarly, EDCH can receive and process NR files from roaming partners, and send fraud reports to the client. In any case, as a standard, EDCH will send NR file reports to the client and their roaming partners.
